Why do I like writing stories?
Every blog post is a bit like a story — a snippet of something that has happened, or might happen.
I’ve always loved reading. I’m happiest tucked up with a good story, the kind where you can really see what the author is trying to convey — when you can almost imagine their words coming to life.
Stories, to me, are people trying to make sense of life with whatever tools (or tea) they have. They’re about the choices we make, the things we go through, and what shapes us along the way.
Stories can be fiction or real life. My real ones often spill out here, in this blog. But I also write fictional stories that hold bits of truth — people wanting to try something new, to escape something difficult, or to rediscover what matters.
Even letters can be stories. I have letters from my grandparents that they sent to each other during the second world war. Theirs is a story of love, being apart, children, and getting through tough times no matter how low they felt.

We all have stories to tell. Some make us think, some make us laugh. Whether we’re reading someone else’s words or writing our own, stories let us see the world a little differently — and open ourselves up to new ways of thinking.
I don’t think we ever stop collecting stories. We just learn how to tell them in different ways.
